Easter Eggs

EASTER FUN – 31st March 2013

Flowers are starting to bloom and the weathers getting a little warmer.  Easter is a wonderful time of the year, full of chocolate eggs, fluffy bunnies and colourful things!

With the extra bank holidays, it’s a  great time to get together with the family, treat yourself to a special roast or organise fun events for the children.

If you don’t have time to organise any Easter activities yourself, check out your local newspapers as often nearby attractions such as parks and stately homes lay on special Easter activities for children from Easter egg hunts to bonnet making competitions.

Also, discount stores such as 99p shops and Poundland stock seasonal items and you can pick up some great Easter decorations and Easter craft kits to keep the children amused.

A fun way to celebrate Easter is an Easter Egg Hunt.  Make sure you buy plenty of eggs so there is no squabbling at the end of the day.  Also bear in mind the ages of the children attending.  If you have very young and older children, either give the younger ones a head start or maybe write out clues for the older children and place them in hollow eggs round the garden to give them a challenge.

Make sure the children are supervised especially if you have any areas in the garden they shouldn’t go, like near a pond or on a manicured flower bed.

You can even make your invitations, if you’re not too crafty then draw round an Easter cookie cutter and ask your children to decorate the invitations for you.  You could also set a fancy dress theme for the event.

The children (and adults), will probably build up quite an appetite with all the Easter egg hunting, so you can lay on some food and drink for your little explorers, such as sandwiches and nibbles.  If you wanted to keep with the Easter theme, some simple treats are melted chocolate mixed with Rice Krispies, cooled, and then sprinkled with mini eggs or just a simple biscuit mixture cut with Easter cutters.
